So you're thinking about the MWC Tournament?
What is the MWC Tournament and Why is it so great?
The MWC Tournament has been played since the year 2000 and almost exclusively at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas (UNLV) except for three years when it was hosted in Denver at the Pepsi Center. The Men's and Women's teams of all 11 Schools play a single elimination tournament over a 7 day tournament. Women's teams start on Sunday with a Wednesday Championship and the Men's games start Wednesday with a Saturday Championship. The day before Selection Sunday, but we'll save that for next time. The top 5 teams are awarded a first round bye, while teams 6-11 play day one. The remaining 8 teams play day 2 in the quarterfinals, day 3 is the semi finals, followed by the championship game.
So What's the Big Deal?
Check out these memories and try not being excited, I dare you!
So What's the Problem?
There's no problem, but it's not just as easy as a normal sporting event to buy one ticket and your're set. Some planning ahead can go a long way and that's part of the reason I put this together. So let's look at the ticket options, travel, and lodging, then we can get back to the fun stuff!
This can be the trickiest part, it definitely was for me the first time we went, but we can get through this! This was what actually motivated me to write this guide as you've got a few options that range in price, access, and flexibility. 6 out of 10 people who were going to the Tournament for the first time hadn't bought tickets yet and only 1 had an idea of what tickets they were buying so don't worry, you're not alone.
Expected game times at the bottom of the page.
Official Ticket Information
Nevada is excellent this year, but winning 3 games in 3 days can be extremely tough. Only 7 regular season champions have also won the tournament in the last 20 years. So that could play a factor in how you plan your weekend.
How our pollsters travel:
If you've never used airbnb, you can save a lot of money especially if you need more than one room. No resort fees, but you will have some cleaning fees. I haven't used one in Las Vegas, but I've had success other places.
Thomas and Mack Center
Getting to the Stadium
I can't find anything about the parking right now, but if I remember correctly you can pay cash there. Expect around $20 or so.

Ride Share or Cab: Many people mentioned this as their preferred option. Around $10 rides from the strip using Lyft or Uber.
At the Stadium:
Yes, Thomas and Mack serves alcohol.
Ryan says the Philly Cheesesteak is great, and Peggy says the vanilla soft serve cones are a treat!

It's the off season and 141 Days until Nevada Basketball tips against BYU at home on November 6th, but there's much more news this summer than Pack fans are used to. Let's recap through June so far and we'll update as we go!
The MWC released the Conference schedules for all teams on June 11th. Notable mentions:
Game vs Akron?
While browsing Coach Muss' blog, came across a game for Akron scheduled for Saturday December 22. The game was quickly deleted after it was tweeted out. The Zips would have been an amazing home game just two seasons ago, last year however the young team with a new coach went 14-18 (6-12 MAC). If the game remains, would hope to see a turn around from a more experienced team or Nevada could be faced with a Quad IV game at home.
Nevada Basketball also tweeted the non-conference schedule out as is and the game vs Cal Baptist which was to be a home game as part of the Las Vegas Invitational was not listed. It was also not listed on Coach Muss' Blog. Nevada has 1-3 games left to schedule depending on Akron and Cal Baptist.
See the Future Schedules page for more details!
Kendall Stephens NBA Workouts
Kendall Stephens who set the single season MWC record for most 3-pointers in a season (126), at least 22 after tearing a ligament on his shooting hand, has been attending NBA workout around the country. From tweets, we can see he's participated in at least 6 workouts! Best of luck Kendall!
Coach Muss' Son Michael Joins Coaching Staff
While it's been known for several months that this was going to happen, the hiring has been made official. Great timing for Father's Day! Welcome to the Pack Michael!

2018-2019 Roster Page
College athletes do much more than learn, train, and compete. Volunteering is another of their many time commitments and it's great to see them out in the community! Thank you!
Nevada Football hasn't received as much love, but we're looking forward to big improvements over last season. Looking beyond next season already, the Wolf Pack picked up three Verbal Commitments all 3 star prospects in the 2019 Class. Welcome to the Pack!
Chris Murray of the RGJ has a breakdown of each commit here and the 24/7 Sports Profiles for each player are linked below. Appears the 2019 Class has 12 Scholarships remaining.
